为什么日本不叫the japan

英语中Japan(日本)是个国家的名称，前面不加定冠词the.也就是说，表示国家的名词前面一般都不加the.

除此之外，如果英语中国家的名称说“全称”或简称时，正式的写法要加the. 例如：

China.(中国)

the People's Republic of China（中华人民共和国）

America(美国)

the U.S.或 the U. S.A.正式写法还要加“.”

the United States或the United States of America
